Anything That Floats

The Surfboard Warehouse transport their team and their varied and expansive quivers to every surfer’s idea of paradise

Back in September when we were still allowed to travel, The Surfboard Warehouse team took a trip to the Mentawai Islands in Indonesia. Along for the ride were Thomas Woods, Jarrad Batza, Karl Muggeridge, Rachael Tilly, and Beau Young, with cameramen Jarrason Bitton and Russel Ord to capture it all.

The team had no shortage of boards as combined they had: two longboards, five mini mals, 14 shortboards, three standup paddleboards, five foilboards and three soft tops.

Our destination, Kandui Resort, in the Playgrounds region of the Mentawais, did not disappoint. The real world disappeared for 10 days as our daily commute was a boat, work was surfing, and free time was spent fishing and tow foiling. Every morning the team was up at the crack of dawn ready to hunt the many islands surrounding ours for the best swell.

We would spend all day surfing, trading boards, barrel hunting, snacking on crackers and Kit Kats, as well as the addition of a few sunburns and reef cuts to round it out. By having The Surfboard Warehouse’s extensive quiver of boards, everyone had heaps of fun trying new models and switching it up to break comfort zones. It truly was a trip of learning and playing around on anything that floats.
