AMBER CREE

ELIXIR - EXHIBTION

elixir (noun): “a liquid, medicinal in nature, with magical properties, believed to cure all ills and prolong life... indefinitely.”

It was a deep connection with the ocean, and a curiosity to explore it more intimately, that lead Amber to Ocean Photography. When she began to look a little closer, she was fascinated with what she found.

There’s an ethereal luminosity that occurs when light touches the sea. Transient moments, which can’t be seen with the naked eye, of delicate and gentle details, in stark contrast to the scale and ferocity of the ocean. Elixir is a collection of these ethereal moments. Reflections of light, colour, and texture interact to create mesmerising scenes, conveying a sense of calm and wonder at the marvel of the ocean.

Amber shares these interactions for others to have a deeply immersive experience through her photography, bringing awareness to these beautifully gentle elements of the ocean that would otherwise go unseen.

“Being immersed in the sea as a new day breaks, and witnessing up close the magnificent play of water and light, it’s nature’s magical saltwater elixir.”

An adventurer at heart, Amber has explored some wild places. An accomplished Australian travel and landscape photographer and storyteller, her work is distinctive and identifiable, infused with her infectious energy, which comes through in her vibrant and alluring imagery. Amber captures the detail in a story, creating an immersive experience for the viewer, and leaving a lasting impression.

The colours and textures of the Australian land and seascapes are etched in Amber’s fibres, from a childhood spent exploring the countryside in a 4x4 and a tent. This has shaped the way she now views and experiences the world around her.

“I feel compelled to create a shared experience through photography, for others to see and feel the essence of a place or moment.”

Her work has been published in an aerial photography book, and her photos and travel stories featured on front covers and travel publications around the world. She has worked and collaborated with leading lifestyle and tourism brands. Her imagery is available as unique fine art prints, and her current project, titled ‘Elixir’, a photographic collection of moments with the sea, is preparing for its debut exhibition.

Based on the coast of the Illawarra in New South Wales, she spends her days either within or nearby the ocean, or venturing inland in a 1975 Kombi van, seeking the red dusty horizons of roads less travelled.
