Specifications/rules

  • 1750 pixels longest length (horizontal or vertical)

  • Jpeg files only - 72dpi (original/ raw file will be required from finalists)

  • File Naming: Subject, Location, Photo Credit. Example: Beau Young_Snapper Rocks_Photo John Smith - (Note if secret location or not required please leave out)

  • No borders or watermarks

  • The Competition runs from Jan 1st 2020 to December 31st 2020, photos have to be submitted and taken during this period..

  • Photographers have to submit to at least three of the six categories to be in the running for The Coastline Photographer Of The Year.

  • The contest is open to all photographers and each submission entered has a fee of $10 AUD (a proportion of proceeds will be donated to a a charity of our choice)

  • Entering the competition you agree to the rules and regulations.

  • Once you submit an image this cannot be changed at a later date (choose image & category wisely)

  • All countries are eligible to enter.

  • Judges are not permitted to enter the competition and the judge’s decisions are final.

  • Your images will not be used for advertising (photographer holds copyright at all times) You submissions will only be used for marketing purposes in direct relation to the competition and accredited accordingly. Example - your image may be used on our competition website (fully credited) and/or social media. Our partners will also be able to showcase on their social media channels in direct relation to the competition (not advertising products or services) .

TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • The Competition runs from Jan 1st 2020 to December 31st 2020, photos have to be submitted and taken during this period.

  • The participant agrees to provide correct, current and complete information relating to their participation in the promotion.

  • Entry is open to all photographers (no age limit) . Employees, judges are ineligible to enter the competition.

  • The Coastline Magazine takes care but no responsibility to ensure that all entries are received and processed.

  • All entry processing and judging will take place in the Coastline office New Zealand.

  • Any photographs entered can be modified by the promoter for social media use (square sizing).

  • Official sponsors of the competition are Vagabond Photographic,

  • The photographer is sole owner and copyright owner of the photograph.

  • The photographer has permission from anyone recognisable within the image.

  • The submitted images will not be used for advertising (photographer holds copyright at all times) You submissions will only be used for marketing purposes in direct relation to the competition and accredited accordingly. Example - your image may be used on our competition website (fully credited) and/or social media channels. Our partners will also be permitted to showcase on their social media channels in direct relation to the competition (not advertising products or services) .

  • Photographers have to submit to at least three of the six categories to be in the running for The Coastline Photographer Of The Year - Water, Action, Beneath The Surface, Culture/Lifestyle, Creative/Innovative and Ocean-scapes.

  • Images that have been digitally or otherwise modified to change the original impression are only eligible for submission in the Creative/Innovative category.

  • Minor adjustments, including the removal of sensor dust/scratches, sharpening, contrast, toning, cropping/straightening, slight colour adjustment and conversion to grayscale are acceptable for all categories. The addition and subtraction of objects is not permitted except in the Creative/Innovative category. 

  • Finalists will be responsible on request to provide the original winning image (raw file) for judges to verify an official winning entry.

  • Entry fees must be paid for each photo entered, the photographer can enter an unlimited amount of images.

  • The photographer can enter the same photo within multiple categories, entry fees will need to be paid for each entry into each category.

  • The Coastline Photographer of the year  and winning images in each category will be selected by the panel of judges and the judges decision is final.

  • The Coastline Photographer Of The Year is awarded to the strongest portfolio judged from a minimum of three of the six categories.

  • Each categories will receive prizes and photographers are eligible to win multiple categories

  • Each Month we are giving away a free Coastline Wetsuit to the images with the most viewer votes on our instagram account. At the end of the year those 12 images will then go into contention for the viewer choice awards chosen by our panel of judges, winning image will win $500 and we will also give $500 to a follower that voted for the winning image throughout the year.

  • All winners will be notified by email and announced at an awards ceremony at a location to be determined.

  • By accepting any prizes the winner agrees to participate in all reasonable media requests.

  • IF a photographer contact details change during the competition it is their responsibility to notify The Coastline Magazine.
